WEBSITE DESIGN

SAP Canada and SAP Labs Website Redesign

A complete site redesign for SAP Canada, and its respective local labs’ locations including SAP Labs Montreal, SAP Labs Waterloo and SAP Labs Vancouver used for streamlining internal communications.

Methods & Tools

  • Figma - Designed new wireframes, lo-fi and hi-fi mockups

  • Google Forms - Conducted surveys and analyzed responses

  • SharePoint - Constructed website redesigns and migrated content

  • Adobe Suite - Developing new content

Challenge:

The four sites were outdated and hard to navigate; users less likely to visit. The hosting platform was planning on phasing out in 2022.

Solution:
Migrate content to four new SharePoint sites, restructure the IA in a meaningful way and address user pain points through a complete site redesign.

My Process:

User Research > Plan > Design/Copy > Prototype > Test

Implementation:

  • Conducted user research surveys and synthesized data into 5 main pain points

  • Addressed pain points by designing new wireframes, lo-fi and hi-fi mockups on Figma

  • Updated and developed new web copy and content for the site to answer any outlying questions

  • Migrated content to its respective SharePoint sites

Project Type:

  • In-house

  • UX design audit

  • Web copywriting audit

Scope:

  • Landing Pages

  • User onboarding

  • FAQs and other informational content

Duration:

  • 4 months, full-time

  • September - December 2021

Role:

  • User Researcher

  • UX Designer

  • Content designer + Writer

Stakeholders:

  • Managing Director of SAP Labs Canada

  • VP and Head of HR, SAP Canada

  • Chief Operating Officer, SAP Labs Canada

  • Integrated Communications Lead, SAP Labs Canada

Wireframes of SAP Canada’s landing pages

When developing the wireframes I wanted to keep things simple and intuitive for finding and adding content. There was always deep emphasis on the organization of internal information so to ensure this we created categories to divide information into internal news and external news before further subdividing information for all Canadian employees and information for specific locations (ie. Labs vs. Fields). Additional categories with other areas for discovery and community engagement were included to elevate employee engagement and leadership development. Note: certain assets are hidden due to company confidentiality.

SPARK Foundation - User Experience Case Study

SPARK Foundation, a youth education and life-skill program, was looking to improve its website and search ranking

Created for Rochelle Prasad, Executive Director & Founder and the SPARK Foundation team

Challenges:

1. Lack of relevant keywords and the name of the organization: "SPARK Foundation" within website content; thus, affecting search ranking

2. Lack of context and content that meets audience information needs

3. Design inconsistencies regarding colour, font, embedded content and mobile responsiveness compared to desktop view

Impact: Improve the website’s UX (navigation and design consistency), provide more context on their programs and increase its ranking on organic google search results to ensure audiences’ information needs are quickly met
